Who are you?

We’re a small, chef-led catering team rooted in the idea that food should tell a story — about season, place, and community. Our menus are built around local farms and regional producers, with an emphasis on freshness, craft, and genuine hospitality.

What makes your catering different?

We cook from scratch, source ingredients as close to home as possible, and design every menu to reflect the people and the moment it’s made for.
We also value connection — between farmers and guests, between cooks and eaters, and between the food and the landscape it comes from.

Where do you source your ingredients?

Most of our produce, meats, and cheeses come from small farms within a few hours of our kitchen. We also grow and preserve a portion of our own ingredients. The goal is simple: the freshest possible food that supports a thriving local food system.

What kind of events do you cater?

We specialize in intimate weddings, private dinners, and community gatherings where food is central to the experience. We love working on multi-course plated dinners, family-style meals, and seasonal celebrations.

Do you have a food truck or kitchen setup?

Yes — our mobile kitchen allows us to prepare and plate fresh, restaurant-quality food on site. This gives us flexibility for outdoor weddings, wineries, farms, and unique venues without commercial kitchens.

Can you accommodate dietary preferences?

Absolutely. We regularly create menus that are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or dairy-free. Our goal is to make every guest feel cared for and included — without compromising flavor or beauty.

Who’s behind the food?

Our team includes chefs, farmers, and educators who’ve worked together for years in kitchens and on the land. We’re passionate about good food, good systems, and building a workplace that values creativity, respect, and shared success.

Why do you do this work?

Because we believe that how we feed each other matters — that meals can build community, honor the earth, and create memorable moments of joy.
Catering, for us, isn’t just service — it’s hospitality as an act of care.

How far do you travel?

We primarily cater within a two-hour radius, but occasionally travel farther for special projects and partnerships. Travel fees are based on distance and logistics.

How do we book you?

Start with our event inquiry form — we’ll follow up to learn more about your vision, venue, and budget, then create a customized proposal and tasting plan.

Our Story

Provecho is an extension of the heart and soil of Fern Hollow Farm—born from our love of growing food, preparing nourishing meals, and gathering people around a shared table. It’s our way of honoring the full cycle of food: from seed to harvest, from hands to plate, and ultimately, from farm to community.

Our farm-to-table catering is inspired by the joy and depth of connection that happens when people experience food grown close to home—when they meet the farmers, taste the season, and feel the care in every scratch-made dish. It’s about more than just flavor; it’s about gratitude for the land, and being in relationship with the natural world—and with one another.

The name Provecho comes from the Spanish phrase “Buen provecho”, a warm, universal salutation wishing someone a good meal. It captures everything we aim to bring to the table: nourishment, generosity, culture, and shared experience. Whether you're an old friend or a new guest, you're welcome here.

Our menus are shaped by what’s growing now—in our gardens, in neighboring pastures, and in the creative spaces between cultures and cuisines. Influenced by our Appalachian roots and inspired by our travels, we craft dishes that blend the familiar with the unexpected. Like the “edge zones” in permaculture—where different ecosystems meet and thrive—we believe food is richest where traditions intersect. We celebrate that richness through diverse, seasonal menus that feel both rooted and expansive.

Every Provecho meal is an invitation: to gather, to slow down, to celebrate the farmers and flavors of our region, and to experience the kind of food that feeds both body and spirit. Communal and family-style, our catering offerings are health-conscious for both the diner and the planet, highlighting fresh, locally raised ingredients and creative twists on regional and international favorites.

You’ll find Provecho at Fern Hollow Farm hosting winery tastings, seasonal dinners, retreats, and programs—or traveling throughout the region to cater private events, community gatherings, and festivals. Wherever we are, we bring with us the same intention: to serve meals that matter.
