Our Story

Provecho is an extension of the heart and soil of Fern Hollow Farm—born from our love of growing food, preparing nourishing meals, and gathering people around a shared table. It’s our way of honoring the full cycle of food: from seed to harvest, from hands to plate, and ultimately, from farm to community.

Our farm-to-table catering is inspired by the joy and depth of connection that happens when people experience food grown close to home—when they meet the farmers, taste the season, and feel the care in every scratch-made dish. It’s about more than just flavor; it’s about gratitude for the land, and being in relationship with the natural world—and with one another.

The name Provecho comes from the Spanish phrase “Buen provecho”, a warm, universal salutation wishing someone a good meal. It captures everything we aim to bring to the table: nourishment, generosity, culture, and shared experience. Whether you're an old friend or a new guest, you're welcome here.

Our menus are shaped by what’s growing now—in our gardens, in neighboring pastures, and in the creative spaces between cultures and cuisines. Influenced by our Appalachian roots and inspired by our travels, we craft dishes that blend the familiar with the unexpected. Like the “edge zones” in permaculture—where different ecosystems meet and thrive—we believe food is richest where traditions intersect. We celebrate that richness through diverse, seasonal menus that feel both rooted and expansive.

Every Provecho meal is an invitation: to gather, to slow down, to celebrate the farmers and flavors of our region, and to experience the kind of food that feeds both body and spirit. Communal and family-style, our catering offerings are health-conscious for both the diner and the planet, highlighting fresh, locally raised ingredients and creative twists on regional and international favorites.

You’ll find Provecho at Fern Hollow Farm hosting winery tastings, seasonal dinners, retreats, and programs—or traveling throughout the region to cater private events, community gatherings, and festivals. Wherever we are, we bring with us the same intention: to serve meals that matter.
